Activities to try to achieve this target...

 

• Collect items such as ducks to go in bath, frogs, play dough to make current buns etc and encourage OT to count them initially up to 3, then to 5 with an adult, using the song/rhyme.

 

• Help OT to count them slowly and one at a time, tapping the item as you go so that he understands the numbers match up to the amount of objects you have. Encourage OT to copy your actions.

 

• Encourage OT to smile, reach out or vocalise during an appropriate moment in the song/rhyme i.e. 'Mother duck said, quack quack quack quack...' and pause and wait for a response.
