Sensory Play

In this area, you will find ideas for sensory play that you can use at home. Most activities include items that you might find in your cupboards! These are only ideas. Please refer to the PowerPoint lots of ideas that you could use for sensory/messy play!

Dosbarth Oren enjoy sensory play as it supports;

The development of all five senses

Opportunity for intensive interaction and modelling play skills

It is fun and messy! (sometimes)

It can support the learning of all six areas based on topics

Encourages independent exploration of materials

Develops motor skills depending on activity choice

Examples of Sensory Play for at home

Dosbarth Oren love bubble play! We use bubbles as part of our sensory Day of the Week. It is also a great way for us to make a PECs exchange! Listen to the 10 Little Bubble song below as we pop bubbles together!
