Our Testimonies

Tŷ Gwyn School is a happy and caring community. Staff from across the teaching and therapeutic teams work together exceptionally well to provide high levels of support for pupils and families, which enables most pupils to make strong progress during their time at the school.

Pupils enjoy coming to Tŷ Gwyn as a result of the calm and nurturing environment at the school. They feel safe in school and build strong relationships with staff, which helps them to develop their social and independence skills well over time.

"Importantly, it was clear that the school provides a child centred approach, so that every pupil regardless of learning need, background or barrier has access to a caring, inclusive, rights based learning environment. At the heart of this is Article 12 and enabling children and young people to communicate and have a voice."

An excellent community, welcoming and staff all clearly love what they do. I feel my child is happy and safe, enjoying a full range of opportunities.

I'm blown away with how much he has settled into school and LOVES it! His first week with you couldn't have gone better. He was so happy every day, and I'm so grateful to his teachers for creating a loving, stimulating and happy environment for him.

From our school tour, family room visits, transitions, I have seen first hand how lovely staff are to all the children and also how passionate they are whenever they speak about pupils.

As soon as we had a tour of the school, we saw how friendly and warm the atmosphere at this school was. It stands out and I've not found another school like it.

My child has been exposed to a variety of wonderful experiences and the curriculum has clearly been carefully tailored and suited to his needs.

The positive culture that exists is evident from the moment you arrive at the school and as observed in the welcome of the children as they arrive, in the whole school tour, people briefings, twilights and leaders’ meetings. Your people are extremely welcoming and friendly, during discussions people were unanimously positive about what they do and motivated to make a difference to the children, their families, and the communities you serve.

Ty Gwyn has a range of awards and accreditations including outstanding feedback from Estyn, third stage of the Unicef Rights Respecting Schools at Gold level, ‘We invest in people’ accreditation at Platinum level, National Autistic Society accreditation and is widely respected as a best practice school.

Your support to organisations external to the school, in relation to supporting the inclusion of ALN and an understanding of working with complex needs to PGCE students, NQTs, charitable and other organisations is to your credit, people are passionate about supporting activities and programmes like this
