Home Learning Planner Spring Term 1 2021

Hi Everyone,

During these difficult times, we in Dosbarth Aman want to ensure that every student in our class still has access to their education. Each week, an easy to follow plan will be uploaded on Monday morning which will have suggested activities that you may like to do with your child at home. The plan will also include links so that each activity can be easily found on our website.

In addition to the Weekly Plans, there are also some simple termly individualised targets (see Spring Term 2021 Student Target Folder below) that you can practice at home with your child to further their learning. We hope that these resources prove to be useful and that your child enjoys doing them.

Stay safe,

Richard, Beth and Lucy

This term in Dosbarth Aman we will be learning about some of the Ancient Civilizations of the World. Click the Icons below to learn more about each of the Civilizations. There are also differentiated work tasks relating to each Ancient Civilization in each of the sections.

Yr Hen Galan – The Old New Year

Did you know that in some parts of Wales, people celebrate the New Year on 13 January? Check out the PowerPoint below to see what it's all about. Also, there's instructions to make a traditional Welsh New Year's charm called a "Perllan", and the lyrics to a Welsh New Year's song (Calennig Song). Perhaps you could try these out at home to see in the Old New Year (Yr Hen Galan).

Happy New Year! By Clara Coleman

Celebrating a new year is a lot of fun, especially when you're with your family and friends. This book explores how New Year's is celebrated in different cultures around the world. Click the video below for the story before trying the New Year's around the World activities (also attached below)...

Welcome Dosbarth Aman

Please keep updated on our website under your child’s class “Aman” where you can find general video links and online resources for your child.

Please see the resource pack we have sent you home with all the resources you might need to support learning. We are taking into consideration that in a home environment things might work differently. Therefore, we will try not to overload you with too much information. You will find some activities are repeated, this is to ensure that we provide consistency and that our pupils are consolidating key skills with the aim to generalise them in different settings.

Take care and look after your selves

Dosbarth Aman

This half term we have been learning about our topic 'Growing and Changing'.  We have learned about the life cycle of a butterfly as well as taking part in a local gardening project.  We also had a lovely visit to Fforest Fawr to explore the spring time changes to the area.

Some of our class were lucky enough to have a tour of the Cardiff City Stadium, enjoying a behind the scenes look at the club.  They also got to test out the new Sensory room that has been built by the club.

Thanks for visiting our page, and don't forget to keep looking for more updates about the class.
