Sparkle and Shine

During the first week of this new term we will celebrate two significant 'Sparkly and Shiny' days.

Firstly the Hindu festival of Diwali ... the Festival of Lights.

Followed by Bonfire Night!

Diwali.

Diwali is the start of the Hindu New Year

and the dates are based on the position of the moon and so they change each year. This year Diwali falls on Thursday 4th November.

We printed off Diwali colouring pages and made them Sparkle and Shine with glitter and glue!

'Remember Remember the Fifth of November!'

On November the Fifth, people across the UK celebrate Bonfire Night

with fireworks, bonfires, sparklers and tasty food.

The reason we do it is because it's the anniversary of a failed attempt

to blow up the Houses of Parliament by Guy Fawkes way back in 1605!

We made bonfire pictures using our UV paints and real sticks. Our special bonfire light made it fun!

We made yummy Bonfire cakes and Breadstick Sparklers!
