World Nursery Rhyme 2021 week

World Nursery Ryhme week 2021

Nursery rhymes are a brilliant tool to support our pupils learning and development. They can help children to develop lots of fantastic skills such as literacy in which lots of rich language and rhyme is used. Many nursery rhymes are repetitive which can support the development of memory and help support the practice of listening and speaking skills. Nursery rhymes can be used to help support physical development through lots of different actions and  body movements. They support numeracy skills with counting concepts aswell as supporting our children's knowledge and  understanding of the world around them.

Nursery rhymes are generally tailored to our younger children, however there is plenty of learning and fun that can be had by all of our pupils through the use of these rhymes. Below are the selected rhymes for this year, which include some suggested learning activities to support pupil learning and understanding.

There is lots of further resources and fun available which can be found on the website of this years Official Music Partner Sing With Piccolo and on the website worldnurseryrhymeweek.com
