"Learning To Achieve"

Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes

Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes

This is a brilliant nursery rhyme that supports the language of learning the names of body parts.

To support the language of this rhyme:

  • As you sing/ play the song support your child to imitate your actions or use hand under hand support to point to your child's head, noes etc.
  • You could also use a teddy bear or dolly and point to the different parts of the body as you sing/play the song.
  • In school when we sing this song we have lots of variations in which we may go really slow as we sing, we may go super fast, super loud or even whisper which do help to get pupil's attention.
  • We do also practice the Welsh words for this song, which have been included below if you wanted to sing a different version but to the same theme tune at home this week.
