These are some slightly edited versions of our morning circle time for you to try with you child if you would like to introduce the day with them.

During our circle time we would sing hello to each child, also giving each child the time to look at themselves in the mirror and identify parts of their body.

We then move on to singing an action song to get them moving and to continue to develop their body awareness.

We then introduce what the day is, the colour of the day and the weather. I have included on the powerpoint the resources that we would use for the colour of the day (the music, taste, smell and feel). If you would also like a sensory resource for the weather, here are some ideas as to what we use in school:

cloudy: cotton wool or fluffy material

windy: a fan

sunny: a torch

rainy: water or water spray.
