Sleeping Bunnies

Sleeping Bunnies Action song

This is such a fun, action nursery rhyme that can be tailored to whatever animal and action you wish to use with your child. In school we have lots of fun using a toy crocodile that pretends to snap which the pupils find very funny and is great for developing attention and anticipation skills. To support the language in this song:

  • You could use any soft toy/teddy you have at home and change the name and the action to whatever your chosen animal may do. For example if you had a toy lion you could sing Lion and say 'roar, roar, roar' etc.
  • Use the toy animal to then explain the action you sing about to your child e.g jump, jump, jump. Encourage your child to imitate the action themselves using their own body parts or use the toy as you sung/played the action.
  • You could also introduce musical instruments to create different sounds as the different actions are sung you your child.
