Using a Lightbox
A lightbox can be used to help develop an awareness of light, colour, and objects. It can also be used to encourage visual tracking, visual scanning, eye-hand coordination, visual discrimination, and visual perceptual skills particularly with pupils who show interest in light-up objects and toys but do not always interact with toys without the added light stimulus.
You can buy lightboxes online from outlets such as Amazon but 'home-made' versions can work just as well. Bernie demonstrates how to make a simple one below.
